Split Pea Soup Jardiniere - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 quarts water
    1 lb dried split green peas
    1 meaty ham bone
    1 onion, quartered
    2 sliced leeks
    2 celery ribs, sliced
    2 carrots, sliced
    2 small turnips, cubed
    2 large tomatoes, chopped
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    4 whole cloves
    2 teaspoons dried thyme
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours.
    Remove ham bone and shred meat. Return meat to soup. Discard bones and bay leaf. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
