Cuban Black Bean Soup (Crock Pot) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

16 ounces dried black beans, sorted, rinsed (equivalent to 1 lb or 2 1/3 cups)
1 cup ham, cooked and finely chopped
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup tomatoes, chopped (1 large tomato)
1 cup green bell pepper, chopped (1 medium bell pepper)
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 cups beef broth
1 3/4 cups water
1/4 cup dark rum or 1/4 cup apple cider
2 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
Preparation

In 3 1/2 to 6-quart slow cooker, combine all ingredients; mix well.
Cover; cook on high setting for 6 to 8 hours.
