Pineapple Topped Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix
    3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
    1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
    1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
    1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple
    1 cup sugar
    3 tablespoons cornstarch
    3 tablespoons water
    8 ounces whipped topping
    1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Prepare and bake cake according to pkg instructions for a 13x9 inch pan.
    Cool completely.
    Mix pineapple and sugar in saucepan.
    Bring to a boil.
    Mix cornstarch and water; stir into pineapple.
    Cook and stir for 1 minute; remove from heat.
    Cool completely.
    Cover cake top with pineapple mixture.
    Top with whipped topping; sprinkle with nuts.
