Sesame And Licorice Glazed Spareribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    Spareribs
    3 whole slabs spareribs, cut in half vertically
    3 quarts beef or 3 quarts chicken stock
    2 teaspoons five-spice powder
    5 whole garlic cloves
    salt
    Sesame Licorice Glaze
    1 tablespoon garlic, freshly minced
    1/2 cup hoisin sauce
    2 tablespoons rice vinegar
    1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
    1/4 cup corn syrup
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 tablespoons garlic and red chile paste
    1/2 cup pineapple tidbits, with juice
    2 teaspoons five-spice powder
Preparation
    Place the ribs in a large stockpot and cover with stock. Add the garlic, Five spice powder and salt and bring to a boil. Simmer on medium-high heat for 1 hour. Remove and let cool in a big roasting pan.
    Sauce:
    Place all of the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Pour all over the ribs and toss gently to coat. Place in refrigerator and let marinate with the sauce at least overnight.
    To Cook: Heat outdoor grill and place ribs on grill. Cook on both sides until caramelized and heated through.
    To Cook In Oven: Preheat oven to 425 degrees and place ribs on a foil lined roasting pan or cookie sheet. Cook about 35 minutes until caramelized and heated through.
    Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top of ribs and cut into bite size pieces.
