Bright, Light Buttermilk Syrup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 - 1 cup sugar
    1 cup buttermilk
    2 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons corn syrup
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    2 teaspoons vanilla
Preparation
    Place first five ingredients in a large saucepan.
    Bring to a boil and cook for 7 minutes (mixture will foam), stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
    Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
    Serve warm on pancakes, waffles or french toast.
