Pork And Potato Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 center-cut pork chops (1/2-inch thick)
    2 tablespoons shortening
    salt and pepper
    2 large onions, thinly sliced
    1 (12 ounce) jar heinz homestyle chicken gravy
    2 -3 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
Preparation
    Brown pork chops in shortening; season with salt and pepper.
    Meanwhile, layer onions and potatoes in an 8-inch square baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.
    Pour chicken gravy over potatoes.
    Arrange chops over mixture. Cover with foil.
    Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until potatoes and chops are tender.
