1 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup water
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 cups sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
FROSTING
1/2 cup butter (soft)
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons milk
4 cups confectioners' sugar
Preparation
-
Heat butter& water together.
Add sugar, salt& flour; mix well.
Add remaining ingredients.
After batter is well blended, pour into well greased and floured 15X11X1 jelly roll pan.
Bake 350 degrees for 20-22 minutes.
Cool cake.
Prepare frosting: Mix butter, milk& vanilla till smooth.
Add sugar and spread on cooled cake.
