Spanish Macaroni - Macarrones Espanol - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 slices bacon
    1 lb ground beef
    1 green bell pepper, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
    1 (29 ounce) can diced tomatoes
    1/2 cup chili sauce
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
Preparation
    Dice bacon and cook in large skillet until crisp.
    Add ground beef and brown well.
    Add remaining ingredients in layers, being sure that macaroni is well dampened.
    Cover with tight-fitting lid; cook over full flame until steam escapes.
    Turn flame to simmer and cook for 30 minutes.
