Spanish Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb split peas
    2 large onions, sliced
    2 red peppers, sliced
    1 teaspoon cayenne
    1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
    1 teaspoon garlic salt
    1 teaspoon pepper
    1 cup chopped cilantro
    top with
    crushed tortilla chips
    cheese
Preparation
    Add 6 cups water to split peas(soak overnight).
    Bring peas and water to boil. Add onions, peppers, cayenne, hot sauce, garlic, pepper, and cilantro and simmer for 2 hours.
    Top with crushed tortilla chips and cheese.
    If you like a milder soup, you may want to leave out the hot sauce.
