Chinese Barbecue Sauce (Char Siu) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 cup sherry wine
    2/3 cup hoisin sauce
    2/3 cup soy sauce
    1/2 cup sugar
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    2 teaspoons black bean paste
    1 1/2 teaspoons Chinese five spice powder
    1 teaspoon salt
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a double boiler and simmer for 10 minutes or until it begins to thicken.
    Or cook over very low heat, stirring constantly.
