Yucatan Pickled Red Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 red onions, in fine slices
    2 garlic cloves
    5 big peppercorns
    5 small peppercorns
    2 laurel leaves (bay leaves)
    1 sprig thyme
    1 sprig marjoram
    1/2 cup vinegar
    2 tablespoons cooking oil
Preparation
    Sautee onion and garlic in cooking oil.
    Add the spices and the herbs.
    Pour vinegar into the mixture, and once it starts boiling, turn off heat.
    Let cool before serving.
