Sweet Potatoes With Applesauce Nut Topping - cooking recipe

2 (16 ounce) cans sweet potatoes, drained
1 (1 lb) can applesauce
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon mace
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup broken walnuts
Preparation

Arrange sweet potatoes in 9-inch square baking pan or other casserole dish.
Mix together apple sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, and mace, and spoon over potatoes.
Dot with butter and sprinkle with nut meats.
Bake, uncovered, at 375\u00b0F for 35 minutes or until heated through.
