Sawine - cooking recipe
Ingredients

200 g vermicelli (rice)
2 cups water
2 pieces cinnamon sticks
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 cups evaporated milk
1/4 cup sugar (or to taste)
1/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup cherries (chopped)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation

1) In a heavy skillet, parch vermicelli until golden brown. (It helps to break the vermecelli into small pieces and parch with some butter or ghee).
2) In a large deep pot bring water, cinnamon and salt to a boil.
3) Add vermicelli and cook on low heat until most of the water has evaporated and vermicelli is tender.
4) Add milk, sugar to taste, almond, raisins and cherries and cook for a minute or two.
