The Governor'S Cheese Grits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup uncooked quick-cooking cheese grits
    1/3 lb cheddar cheese, shredded
    1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 pinch white pepper
    1 pinch ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    Grease 9-inch square baking dish.
    Cook grits according to package directions; remove from heat.
    Add cheese and butter and stir until melted.
    Blend in eggs and seasonings; transfer to prepared dish.
    Bake until set, 25 to 30 minutes.
