Italian Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms - cooking recipe

20 large mushrooms
1/2 lb bulk Italian sausage
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 large egg
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, plus
parmesan cheese, to garnish
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350.
Remove stems from mushrooms and chop.
Brown the sausage, onion, garlic and chopped stems in olive oil, drain well.
Allow mixture to cool.
Combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan and egg and add to cooled mixture.
Stuff mixture into mushroom caps and bake 15-20 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with reserved Parmesan.
