Gramma'S Chinese Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup chopped dates
    1 cup walnuts
    1/2 cup coconut
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    3/4 cup pastry flour
    1 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 cup fruit or 1/2 cup icing sugar, for rolling
Preparation
    Mix the dry ingredients well, then add slightly beaten eggs.
    Bake in shallow greased pan in a thin layer at 325 for 25 minutes.
    Cut with a sharp knife while still warm, roll into logs, and roll in icing sugar or fruit sugar.
