Five-Spice Fish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 4 haddock or 4 whiting fish, about 6 oz. each
    1 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
    4 teaspoons cornstarch
    1 tablespoon sunflower oil
    3 scallions, shredded
    1 teaspoon grated fresh gingerroot
    1 1/4 cups button mushrooms, sliced
    2/3 cup baby corn, sliced
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    3 tablespoons dry sherry
    1 teaspoon sugar
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Toss the fish in the five-spice powder and cornstarch to coat.
    Heat the oil in a frying pan or wok and stir-fry the scallions, ginger, mushrooms, and corn for 1 minute.
    Add the spiced fish and cook for 2 minutes, turning once.
    Mix together the soy sauce, sherry, and sugar, then pour over the fish.
    Simmer for 2 minutes.
    Season to taste and serve.
