Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 minced garlic cloves
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (1 lb) can diced tomato
1 (8 ounce) jar chili sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder (more or less)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
1 lb cleaned shrimp, raw
Preparation

Saute onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in the olive oil until tender, not brown. Add tomatoes, chili sauce, salt, sugar, chili powder and worcestershire. Simmer uncovered 45 minutes. If you want a thicker sauce, mix 2 teaspoons cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water; stir into sauce. Add the shrimp and cover, simmer about 5 minutes.
Serve over rice.
