Harrissee (Arab Sweet Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    Cake
    2 cups semolina flour
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup yogurt
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    3/4 cup butter, softened
    1/2 cup almonds, peeled and cut in half lengthwise
    Syrup
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    2 1/2 cups water
    3 tablespoons lemon juice
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix semolina flour, sugar, yogurt, baking powder and butter.
    Pour into greased 9-inch round cake pan.
    Arrange sliced almonds on top.
    Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes. Top should be slightly brown.
    For Syrup: In small saucepan, combine sugar, water and lemon juice. Boil for 10 minutes. Let cool. Pour cold syrup over hot cake.
