Southwest Skillet - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb ground beef
    3/4 cup chopped onion
    1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
    1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
    1/2 cup uncooked instant rice
    1/2 cup water
    3 tablespoons chopped green bell peppers
    2 teaspoons chili powder
    1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup corn chips
    1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation
    In a skillet, cook beef and onion until meat is browned; drain.
    Add next 8 ingredients; mix well.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Remove from the heat.
    Sprinkle with the corn chips and cheese.
    Cover and let stand for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
