Creamy Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb dried split green peas
    8 cups water
    1/2 cup carrot, chopped
    1/2 cup celery, chopped
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 tablespoon garlic
    1 cup instant potato flakes
    1 cup whipping cream
Preparation
    1. Rinse and sort peas.
    2. Bring water to a boil, add peas and reduce heat to simmer 20 minutes.
    3. Saute vegetables, add to soup, and cook 5-7 minutes.
    4. Slowly stir in potato flakes and cream, bring back to a boil.
    5. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes.
