Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Bars - cooking recipe

1 1/4 cups unbleached flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 egg
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup butter
2 cups whole oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup milk
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

cream together butter, sugars, vanilla, egg, baking soda, baking powder, milk and salt.
Add flours and oats and mix thouroughly. Dough will be stiff.
Push into pyrex baking dish and bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
Sprinkle chocolate chips across top and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Remove from oven. Spread hot chocolate chips across bars. Cut into squares and refrigderate until chocolate hardens.
