Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup split peas
    5 cups chicken broth
    1 cup water
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 large carrot, chopped
    1 large celery rib, chopped
    1 cup ham, cut in small pieces
    1 large bay leaf
    1 teaspoon marjoram
    1 teaspoon thyme
    1 fresh garlic clove, minced
    white pepper, to taste
Preparation
    Rinse peas. Add all ingredients to a large pot. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Longer if you like thicker soup. Serve steaming hot with fresh baked bread. Enjoy!
