Favorite Vanilla Buttercream Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 tablespoons butter, softened to room temperature (don't melt it in the microwave)
    1/4 cup milk or 1/4 cup cream
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 pinch salt
    1 (3 1/4 cup) box confectioners' sugar
    2 bittersweet chocolate squares (optional)
Preparation
    Beat the butter, milk, vanilla and salt in a medium bowl.
    Slowly add the confectioners' sugar.
    Mix until thick and creamy.
    Beat on high until fluffy and of good spreading consistency.
    Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and drizzle over the iced cake.
