Cooked Buttercream Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups granulated sugar
    1 cup butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    6 ounces evaporated milk
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in saucepan, mix well.
    Let stand for 1 hour.
    Cook to soft boil stage or 234\u00b0F on candy thermometer, stirring occasionally.
    Beat until creamy and of spreading consistency.
    Frost cooled cake.
