1776 Molasses Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 cup milk
    2 cups flour
    2 teaspoons fat
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons cream of tartar
    1 teaspoon baking soda
Preparation
    Mix-dumplings and roll to one inch thickness. Cut with small cutter.
    Drop 2 or 3 at a time in hot fat.
    Have ready another kettle of boiling molasses, as soon as fried, drop into boiling molasses
    Remove and drain.
