Blueberry Topping - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cups blueberries
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
    2 tablespoons cornstarch
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer, and cook until berries break down, about 4 minutes. .
    Cool the mixture. Scoop over cheesecake, pie or other cake.
    Refrigerate until cold.
    If used by itself, the topping may be stored refrigerated for up to 3 days.
