Gingersnaps (Soft & Chewy) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 cup shortening
    1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup molasses
    1 egg, beaten
    2 cups flour, sifted
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon clove
    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add molasses and egg.
    Stir in sifted, flour, salt and baking soda.
    Then cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Dough will be soft and sticky.
    Roll, into walnut-sized balls and roll in granulated sugar.
    Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350\u00b0F for 7 to 8 minutes. Cookie will flatten out while baking.
