Fruit Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 cup fig, chopped
    1/2 cup dates, chopped
    1/4 cup raisins, chopped
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup boiling water
    3 tablespoons lemon juice
Preparation
    Mix fruit.
    Add sugar, water, and lemon juice and cook in a double boiler until thick**.
    If using to spread on layers of cake, spread it hot---otherwise warm.**.
