California Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup yellow cornmeal
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    8 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
    15 ounces cream-style corn
    8 ounces green chili peppers, drained and diced
    1/2 cup milk
    1/2 cup grated monterey jack cheese or 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
