Food Network Magazine Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 ounces split peas
    1 stalk celery
    1 onion
    1 carrot
    ham hock
    fresh herbs, bundle
    5 cups water
Preparation
    Simmer split peas with chopped celery, onion, and carrot, and ham hock and a bundle of fresh herbs until tender.
    Remove the ham and bone and pull off the meat.
    Puree the soup and stir in the ham.
