Ingredients

1 cup dates, chopped
1 cup walnuts or 1 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
coconut, to thicken
Preparation

Mix all ingredients except coconut.
Thicken with coconut and roll into balls.
Place on parchment paper or lightly greased cookie sheet.
Cook 30 minutes in slow oven, 250\u00b0-275\u00b0.
Makes approximately 18-20.
