Hearty Vegetable Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (40 g) package onion soup mix
    1 (15 ounce) can black beans
    1 (5 ounce) can tomato paste
    1 1/2 cups carrots
    3/4 cup barley
    3/4 cup celery
    1 cup frozen corn
    1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
    8 cups water
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    In a large saucepan or stock pot, dissolve the onion soup mix in the water.
    Add each of the other ingredients and stir well.
    Bring to a boil and then turn down to low heat.
    Simmer covered for a minimum of 1 hour to allow barley to cook.
    Serve immediately. Great reheated as well.
