Split Pea Soup With Glucomannan - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb dried split green peas
    1 teaspoon celery seed
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 large yellow onion, chopped
    1 cup baby carrots, chopped
    1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
    1 teaspoon thyme
    2 bay leaves
    2 teaspoons sea salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper, to taste
    1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
    32 ounces vegetable stock or 32 ounces chicken stock
    12 g glucomannan, opt'l, reduce water if not (fiber powder)
    2 cups water
Preparation
    In a large bowl, soak peas for 4 hours in enough water, covering peas by 2\". Drain and rinse.
    In a slow cooker, combine peas, celery seed, garlic, onion, carrots, parsley, thyme, bay leaves, salt, pepper, & oil. Add the stock.
    In a medium bowl, combine glucomannan and water. Stir to thicken. Add to slow cooker. Mix.
    Cook on low for 8-9 hours or on high for 4-5 hrs., until peas are soft.
