Ingredients

2 eggs
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup shortening, melted (or oil)
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon nutmeg
4 cups flour
Preparation

Mix all dry ingredients together.
Mix the eggs and sugar, add oil and milk.
Add wet to dry and mix well.
Roll out.
Cut into rounds, with a hole in the center.
Fry in oil until golden.
Cover with powdered sugar if desired.
