Parsnips With Dark Beer Glaze - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb parsnip, cut in small chunks
    1 cup stout beer or 1 cup brown ale
    1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
    2 teaspoons butter
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Combine parsnips, stout, cinnamon, and cloves in a heavy saucepan.
    Cover and simmer until barely tender, 8-10 minutes.
    Remove cover and simmer hard until liquid reduces to a glaze. Stir in butter.
    Season to taste with salt and pepper.
