Navy Bean Soup With Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 quarts chicken broth
    8 ounces dried navy beans
    1 1/2 cups smoked ham, cubed
    2/3 cup chopped onion
    2/3 cup chopped celery
    2/3 cup chopped carrot
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except salt and pepper in slow cooker; cover and cook on low until beans are tender, 8-10 hours.
    Discard bay leaf. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
