Green Beans Braised With Tomatoes And Fresh Basil - cooking recipe

3 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
2 large plum tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup water
1 cup fresh basil leaves
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Preparation

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add green beans, tomatoes, and up to 1/2 cup water. Cook until beans and tomatoes are tender, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle basil, salt, and pepper on top.
