Spiced Quinoa Porridge - cooking recipe

4 cups water
2 cups quinoa
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup golden raisins
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger spiced dark rum
1 teaspoon freshly ground Vietnamese cinnamon
6 tablespoons maple syrup
Preparation

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add quinoa, raisins, golden raisins, and rum; reduce heat and simmer, covered, until water is absorbed, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and keep covered, about 5 minutes.
Fluff quinoa mixture with a fork and stir in cinnamon. Ladle into 6 serving bowls; top each with 1 tablespoon maple syrup.
