1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped pecans (optional)
1 1/2 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

Preparation

Combine brown sugar and butter in a bowl; beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Add flour, milk, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt; mix on medium speed until combined, about 2 minutes. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips.
