1/2 head red cabbage, sliced
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 apple, peeled and grated
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 pinch white sugar
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Preparation

Bring 1 quart water to a boil in a large pot; add cabbage and cook until softened, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain.
Mix cabbage, onion, apple, lemon juice, and oil. Season with sugar, salt, and pepper.
