Nona'S Japanese Ume Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1/4 cup rice vinegar
    1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
    1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
    1 tablespoon umeboshi, minced
    1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice (optional)
    1 teaspoon white sugar, or more to taste
    1 teaspoon salt
    ground black pepper to taste
Preparation
    Place the vegetable oil, onion, rice vinegar, sesame seeds, ginger, umeboshi, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper into a blender. Cover, and puree until smooth, about 30 seconds.
