Slow-Cooker Apple Raspberry Sauce - cooking recipe

12 green apples - peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
1 (12 ounce) package frozen raspberries
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup brown sugar, or more to taste
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, or more to taste (optional)
Preparation

Combine apples, raspberries, water, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a slow cooker crock.
Cook on Low until apples can easily be mashed, about 6 hours.
