Minestrone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. pinto beans
    1/3 c. lentils
    2 small onions, diced
    1 clove garlic, pressed
    8 to 10 c. water
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 c. chopped carrots
    1 c. chopped potatoes
    2 c. mixed corn, celery, cabbage, beans, turnips, etc.
    1/2 c. dry pasta
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. basil
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. sugar (optional)
Preparation
    Combine pinto beans, onions, garlic, water and tomato sauce. Bring to boil.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Add lentils.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer 1/2 hour.
    Add water as needed.
