Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 1/2 c. flour
1 lb. dates, chopped
1 lb. candy orange slices, chopped
2 c. nuts
1 can coconut
1 c. fresh orange juice
2 c. powdered sugar
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Beat well after each.
Dissolve soda in milk.
Add to creamed mixture.
Add dates, nuts and candy to flour to coat.
Add coconut.
Combine both mixtures.
Makes stiff dough that should be mixed with hands.
Bake in greased 13 x 9 x 3-inch pan at 250\u00b0 for 2 1/2 hours.
Combine orange juice and powdered sugar.
Pour over hot cake.
Let stand overnight.
