Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter
    6 apples, peeled and cored
    Pastry
    cinnamon to taste
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Place 1/2 teaspoon sugar and 1 teaspoon butter inside each apple.
    Place 1 apple on each pastry square.
    Fold dough to enclose apple, sealing edges.
    Place in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Bring remaining 1 cup sugar, margarine, cinnamon and water to a boil in saucepan.
    Cook for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
    Pour over dumplings.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour, basting with pan juices every 10 minutes.
    Yield:
    6 servings.
