Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/3 c. vinegar
1/3 c. water
1 small stick cinnamon (optional)
4 c. cooked beets (small whole or sliced)
3 Tbsp. butter
salt and pepper
Preparation

Boil the first 4 ingredients 5 minutes; you can put the cinnamon stick in mixture.
After mixture has boiled 5 minutes, add the beets.
Simmer 1/2 hour.
Add butter; salt and pepper to taste.
