Downy Light Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. self-rising flour, sifted
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening or oil
1 c. milk
1/2 c. egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift flour and sugar; add shortening, milk, and egg whites and beat for 2 minutes. Add flavoring and mix; pour into two 8 inch cake pans that have been floured and greased. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes. For filling, in between layers or on top, use pineapple, apple, or just about any fruit that you desire.
