Ingredients

1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced thin
3 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
9 slices day-old French or Italian bread
Preparation

In saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup until thick.
Pour into ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan, arrange apples on top of syrup.
In a bowl, beat eggs, milk and vanilla.
Dip bread in egg mixture and arrange over top of apples.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking and uncover.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 35 - 40 minutes or until top is browned.
