Oyster Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 pt. select oysters
1 (10 oz.) pkg. crackers, coarsely crushed
1/2 c. butter, divided
salt and pepper to taste
2 c. half and half cream
Preparation

Drain oysters, reserving 1/4 cup liquid; set aside.
Spread 1/3 of cracker crumbs in a buttered 3-quart casserole dish. Cover with oysters.
Dot with butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Repeat layers.
Top with rest of cracker crumbs and dot with butter
Combine reserved oyster liquid and half and half and pour over top of crumbs.
Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven for a few minutes. Reduce heat to 350\u00b0.
Takes 50 to 55 minutes to cook.
Yields 8 to 10 servings.
